On February 1st you can tune in to a brand new test broadcast from Radio Delta! We’re excited to bring you our signal today on 9800 kilohertz in the shortwave band, also known as the 31-meter band.
For the upcoming weeks, we won’t be broadcasting on 6170 kilohertz. Instead, we’re venturing into uncharted territory to see if 9800 kHz offers better coverage. To achieve this, we’ll be conducting tests with various antennas to ensure the best signal possible. Your feedback is invaluable to us! Please send any comments or reception reports. We appreciate your input as we strive to enhance our broadcast quality.
Today, our test transmission on 9800 kHz will continue until 13:00 UTC. Tune in on Sunday, when we’ll be on-air for most of the day, testing our signal to North and South America starting at 21:00 UTC. This hobby radio station is dedicated to making strides in ensuring that our content is accessible throughout Europe and beyond.
As a special treat for this broadcast, we have created an exclusive eQSL card just for you! This card contains additional personal information about our station. If you send us a reception report, we will ensure you receive this unique card as a token of our appreciation.
And now, let’s take a look at the weather here in the Netherlands. This morning, northern regions can expect some cloudiness accompanied by mist, with temperatures initially hovering below freezing. However, as the day progresses, the sun will shine brightly across the land, with dry conditions prevailing and a gentle wind blowing from the east and south.
Thank you for listening! Radio Delta is the Dutch lion that keeps the shortwave alive with all live programs!

Hello Aart,
a good choice this weekend, just testing on 9800 kHz. Until 8:15 a.m. the 9800 kHz here in Northern Germany was still in noise. With Msusic and his story about “Twilight zone” the 31 m tape opened up for me too. Strong signal S9 + 25 dB but a little bit fading. But the music makes up for this. I wish you a successful test weekend. Keep the short wave alive. 73, Dieter
I will tune in tomorrow (Sunday) best wishes with the new frequency.
Hi Lewis,
We expect that for the UK a bit later the band open is for reception.
Thanks mate you are joining our journey……
Heard you in JN47uj west Austria with 5/9 and QSB.
Hi Igor,
Your eQSL is on its way.
Thanks for this post and to hear from you!
Hello good morning, testing today Kiwi SDR Moreda, Spain. Good reception. 805 Queen “Can´t stop me now”.808 Jingle, Moderation , 809 Latin Quarter “Hearing only bad news on Radio Africa” (GREAT SONG) , 812 Jingle for reception reports, “Best of dutch music” , 813 The Black Keys “Shine a little light”..
The 31 m band isn´t open now at 815 UTC here in North Germany but I will wait…. Sometimes it will open between 915 and 945 UTC….. Have a great sunday and many good results for the test today. 73, Dieter
Hi Dieter,
Thanks for your feedback.
Shortwave has its own laws and characteristics. Sometimes it takes a while and then it comes all of a sudden. Until 850 UTC I had only very weak reception on 9800 kHz and heard this via the Kiwi SDR in Spain, where reception was good and hardly any fading. Then at 850 UTC the signal from Radio delta woke up at 9800 kHz in my JRC NRD 535 DG and quickly increased to a signal of S9 + 20 dB. The new antenna does a good job and the short wave wants to be conquered, which Radio Delta has once again done very well. Thank you very much and continued good test results on the new frequency. As always, the music is wonderful and very diverse.
73, Dieter
Hi Radio Delta! Excellent signal coming through here in Chelmsford, Essex, UK right now on 9800kHz! The band is pretty quiet at the moment with the exception of you & Channel292 on 9670 – you’re a little bit stronger! SINPO 54444. I’ll try & listen again later – but I’ve got to get on with the decorating!! Have fun! Thanks for being there! All the best – Jim / Radio Emma Toc
Hi Jim,

Happy to have found your radio, I will listen you regularly along the sunday. What a sound, by moment so close of the FM quality. I am impressed by the stability of the signal. Good luck on 9800 khz.
