There’s something timeless about listening to shortwave radio as one year fades out and a new one begins. This year, we’re marking the New Year period with two full days of shortwave broadcasting, and we’d love for you to join us.

We’ll be on the air on both days:

📅 31 December 2025

📅 1 January 2026

🕖 Broadcast time (both days): 07:00–16:00 UTC

📻 Frequencies:

6040 kHz and 12005 kHz

Why shortwave at the turn of the year?

Shortwave radio is about more than just listening — it’s about discovery and connection. You tune across the band, find the signal, hear a bit of fading or noise, and suddenly you’re part of something shared across borders and continents.

Listeners often describe it like this:

“It feels like a real human connection, not just another broadcast.”

“No algorithms, no screens — just radio, pure and simple.”

At the turn of the year, that feeling becomes even more meaningful. While the calendar changes, radio waves quietly travel through the daytime sky, linking listeners around the world.

The unmistakable shortwave experience

Anyone who listens to shortwave knows the sound: “Sometimes there’s noise, sometimes fading — and that’s part of the magic.”

Another listener once said: “The idea that this signal has travelled thousands of kilometres before reaching my radio never gets old.”

Those imperfections make every listening moment unique.

Tune in and listen

Set your receiver, adjust your antenna, and join us on 31 December 2025 and 1 January 2026, between 07:00 and 16:00 UTC, on 6040 kHz or 12005 kHz.

📡 Two days, one shared shortwave experience — we hope to meet you on the air.

  1. Many thanks to the Radio Delta team for the gift of treating us loyal listeners to a few hours of wonderful music and good cheer on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Shortwave radio thrives thanks to this transmitter from beautiful Elburg, which is unique in its reception quality and modulation.

The numerous reception reports from many countries prove that Radio Delta is doing everything right to keep the heart of shortwave radio beating with a good pulse.

    73 from Hamburg,

    Dieter

    1. Dear Dieter,

Thank you very much for your beautiful message and for your continued support of Radio Delta AM.

It means a great deal to all of us to hear that our broadcasts on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day were enjoyed as a few hours of music and good cheer. Your words about the signal quality and modulation from Elburg are truly appreciated and are a great compliment to the entire team.

We also agree with you — the many reception reports from different countries show that shortwave radio is very much alive, and we’re proud to be part of keeping its heart beating with a strong and steady pulse.

Thank you for being such a loyal listener and for sharing your enthusiasm with us. Messages like yours give us the motivation to keep going.

73 and warm greetings from Elburg,

      Radio Delta AM

  2. Very good music, you can feel the slight fading, this takes me back to my youth.

I used to listen to an old radio with electronic tubes and now I listen to it on a websdr that I have at home. (RX888MK2, home made active loop, PhantomSDR+)

At 6040kHz I have strong interference from VDSL, at 12005kHz the signal is just fine.

All the best in the New Year!

    1. Dear Darko,

Thank you very much for your wonderful message and for sharing your listening experience with us.

It’s great to hear that our music brings back memories of your youth — that slight fading really is part of the magic of shortwave radio. Your journey from listening on an old tube radio to receiving us today via your own WebSDR setup with the RX888MK2, a home-made active loop, and PhantomSDR+ perfectly shows how radio evolves while the feeling stays the same.

We fully understand the VDSL interference you mention on 6.040 kHz — unfortunately, that’s a challenge many listeners face today. It’s good to hear that 12.005 kHz is working well for you, and that’s exactly why we like to offer more than one frequency when possible.

And let us say this especially: messages and reception reports from Croatia are very much appreciated by us. Hearing from listeners like you truly motivates the whole Radio Delta AM team.

Thank you for tuning in and for your kind New Year wishes. We wish you all the best for the New Year as well, with good health, good reception, and many enjoyable radio moments ahead.

    1. Dear Darko,

No worries at all — thank you for the update 😊
It’s great to have the confirmation that you’re listening to us from Croatia. Reception reports and messages from Croatia are always very welcome and truly appreciated by the Radio Delta AM team.

Thanks again for tuning in and for taking the time to write to us. We hope you continue to enjoy the music, the slight fading that brings back memories, and the Radio Delta sound on shortwave.

    1. Guten Morgen lieber Hans,

      Radio Delta AM
