I have been listening to Radio Delta for quite some time, and on this evening the reception on 6190 kHz here in Grefrath in the Lower Rhine region was excellent. Using my Tecsun with its telescopic antenna, I received the station with a perfect SINPO of 55555.
Shortwave radio has been an interest of mine for many years, and I also enjoy bringing older radio equipment back to life. One special receiver in my collection is a Teletron TE 704 C-F/FS from the 1980s. This more than 50-year-old military receiver was formerly used by the German Bundeswehr for receiving weather data via RTTY.
After it was retired from service, I completely refurbished and overhauled it. Today it has a new life in my radio shack. It covers both AM and SSB on several bands, and there is something very special about listening with equipment like this. An old receiver has its own character and brings back that unmistakable sound and feeling of traditional shortwave radio.
I also sent Radio Delta a photograph of the Teletron because I thought it might be interesting for other listeners to see. For me, keeping equipment like this working is another way of keeping the history and spirit of radio alive.
