It was a real pleasure listening to Radio Delta from my home in Treviso, Italy. The signal on 6190 kHz was excellent, with a SINPO of 55545, and the audio quality was superb for shortwave.
I listened using my Icom receiver and a 24-metre long-wire antenna with a 9:1 balun. During the evening I heard a great mixture of music, station identifications and contributions from other listeners.
The programme started for me with Hey Little Girl by Icehouse, followed by the Radio Delta identification and recorded contributions from listeners. Later I heard greetings from listeners in Bergamo and Turin, along with music including I Shot the Sheriff, AC/DC’s Who Made Who and Bob Dylan’s Make You Feel My Love.
One of the nicest things about the programme was hearing the contributions and greetings from other listeners. It makes shortwave feel much more personal: you are not simply receiving a distant signal, but sharing the programme with people listening in different places.
The photo shows my current radio setup here in Treviso. With such a strong signal and excellent audio, this was a very enjoyable evening of shortwave listening.
