I live in Lübz in Northern Germany and enjoy listening to shortwave radio.
On 14 August 2026, I listened to Radio Delta on 6190 kHz using my old Russian VEF 206 radio with its telescopic antenna. The reception was good and I really enjoyed the music. There were many of my favourite songs in the programme.
Among the songs I heard were Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb,” a-ha’s “Stay on These Roads,” John Fogerty’s “Nobody’s Here Anymore” and Thin Lizzy’s “Whiskey in the Jar.” I especially enjoyed “Whiskey in the Jar” — that was one of the highlights for me.
A week later, I tuned in to Radio Delta again, this time using my small XHDATA D-808 indoors. Reception with the little radio was more difficult, but I could still follow the programme and hear songs including a-ha’s “Take On Me,” ABC’s “When Smokey Sings,” Art Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence,” The Motors’ “Airport” and Duran Duran’s “The Reflex.”
At the moment it is very hot here in Northern Germany. I go into my garden every day because the plants need plenty of water.
Listening to Radio Delta and hearing so many familiar songs makes for a very enjoyable summer evening.
