Radio Delta AM

Week 11

This Sunday, catch us on the airwaves at 6110 and 12.030 in the shortwave band. These detailed messages aim to showcase the meaningful interactions and connections Radio Delta International fosters with its listeners. Feel free to further personalize or expand upon these narratives to enrich the storytelling.

Expanding Our Reach

We’ve been extensively testing to potentially introduce broadcasts on the 31m band. Our ongoing tests aim to gauge the band’s performance, particularly its short skip capability during the daytime in Europe. This close-range efficiency is promising. The good reception reports from our listeners on 12.030 pushing us to explore new frequencies on the 25m band for the upcoming summer, enhancing our broadcasting flexibility.

Special Reception Shoutouts:

  1. Peter from Whitstable, Kent, UK, a recent discoverer of Radio Delta International, shares his enchantment with the magic of radio. Despite the challenge of receiving a slightly weak signal on 6110, Peter is determined to optimize his receiver for clearer reception. He expresses anticipation for more engaging content and appreciates the station’s international perspective during these times of global connectivity.
  2. Walt a loyal listener from Masset in Canada, recounts his reliance on Radio Delta International as his Saturday night companion. Reflecting on varying reception quality, Walt predicts the need for higher frequencies as spring approaches for better reception. He looks forward to the potential reach of 12030 during late evenings and commends the station for its consistent excellence.
  3. Dieter, a devoted listener from Hamburg, Germany, shares his journey with Radio Delta International. Enthralled by the station’s personal touch and sense of community, Dieter highlights the unique connection felt with the station and fellow listeners. He praises the diverse music selection and special segments like “Aart goes DX,” emphasizing the inclusive and engaging nature of Radio Delta’s programming.

We are thrilled to announce that we are nearing 500 subscribers on YouTube! If you haven’t already, make sure to subscribe to our channel “Radio Delta International” to enjoy more engaging content.

Special Reception Shoutouts:

  1. Friedrich from Germany:”Hi, today I received Radio Delta mobile in the car. The reception on the A20 motorway in northern Germany is fantastic! Thanks to the whole team for the great program”.
  2. Gregg from the USA:”I tuned in from Massachusetts USA on 12030 kHz. Reception is clear and enjoyable. Thank you for the music and for reading my report! I tuned in a little while ago, 0821 GM/UTC (after seeing a report on the HF Underground).  Reception is fair and clear with a SINPO of 35443.  I am using a Icom R-75 receiver with an end fed wire antenna about 20 meters long. I just heard you read my report! And now you are playing Man of Action, which is one of my favorites”.
  3. Jim from Devon: Sent in beautiful videos and mentioned that 12.030 kHz is often clearer in the UK than 6110 kHz. A learning experience for all involved!

Important Note:

Radio Delta will be off-air in Week 14, Week 15, and Week 16. Stay tuned for our return after this short break. Enjoy listening and feel free to share any special contributions or feedback with us. Happy tuning!

Radio Delta AM

Week 9

This week, you can tune in to Radio Delta on 6110 kHz and 12.030 kHz shortwave frequencies. Currently, there are no new developments regarding our transmitters and antennas; they are operating optimally. Implementing multiple improvements would have a significant impact, so we are evaluating this further. Our focus has been on studio automation, a development that is enhancing the broadcast quality and giving Radio Delta International its distinct sound.

We’ve received wonderful feedback, including a special note from Paul Rudd in Scotland. He sent us a lovely handwritten letter, reminiscent of the 80s when listeners used their own radio setups to contact us. We greatly appreciate Paul Rudd’s gesture and wish him continued enjoyment of our broadcasts!

Phil Hayward shared a memory related to Robbie Williams, mentioning a photo he took years ago near Tunstall Park. He captured the spot of a missing blue plaque from the wall where Robbie Williams once lived.

Radio Delta AM

Week 7

This weekend, you can tune in to Radio Delta on February 18, 2024, on 6110 kHz from approximately 6 UTC to 9 UTC, and also on 12.030 kHz from 9 UTC to 11:30 UTC.

Over the past week, extensive testing has been conducted with the new antennas. The results have not shown improvement compared to the existing antennas. Not every change leads to enhancement. However, a promising discovery was made that the new antenna provides excellent results on the 31-meter shortwave band. Further testing will be carried out to explore this success. Initial plans to utilize the 19-meter shortwave band in the future have been reassessed due to test outcomes indicating it may not offer optimal coverage across Europe. Continuous testing is underway to achieve the best possible outcome.

We express our gratitude to Harri from Oulu for the consistent and enjoyable musical contribution to the ‘Finnish Request’ program, airing from 6 UTC to 7 UTC.

In other news, Radio Monique has recently launched the 1332 kHz mediumwave frequency. Progress has been made with the installation of a new antenna last Saturday, February 17th. Further enhancements, including raising the antenna height and adjustments, are planned in the upcoming months. Visit our website to view new videos showcasing the developments at Radio Monique.

Radio Delta AM

Week 5

This weekend, Radio Delta will only be available on February 4th, 2024, on 6110 kHz starting from 5.00 UTC and on 12.030 kHz at 10.00 UTC.

You can find the definitive show schedule on our website. We have spent some time finding the right balance in terms of timings, frequencies, and show segments to cater to all listeners.

On the website radiodelta.am, you can find more updates about our shows and schedule.

We are introducing a new program segment called “The Records and its History.” This new item will be added to the “5 Decades of Music” program on Radio Delta. In this segment, we will explore the best records released this week, providing background information and playing the songs.

We have received all the necessary components to build the new antennas. We will showcase the progress on our website and create small videos to keep you updated.

In other news, Radio Monique, the famous offshore radio station from the 80s, has undergone some changes. Several members have left, allowing the station to make progress towards the future. They have obtained a new broadcasting license for 1332 kHz medium wave and have prepared the transmitter. However, they still need to make the antenna suitable for broadcasting, which will take some time due to the location and height of the mast. They hope to be back on the air within a month. We wish Radio Monique success with their new setup!

If you have any interesting stories to share, please let us know. We can use them in our radio show. To continue producing great programs on shortwave, we need your help!

Overall, it will be a Sunday to stay home and turn up the radio!
